Vineyard From different parcels within the “Les Buillats” vineyard. The parcels were planted in 1927, in the 1940s, and in the 1990s. The parcels make up 0.8 hectare of vines.
Soil Yellow Granite.
Viticulture Vineyards are farmed using organic methods. All vineyard work is done by hand.
Vinification Pierre works with only indigenous yeast, implements semi-carbonic maceration in cement before elevage in foudre. Only neutral oak is used and he never fines or filters before bottling. No sulfur is added.
Aging Aged for 6 months in a combination of used foudre and barrique.
Production less than 2,000 bottles.
Notes Hail affected much of the Beaujolais in 2017, but overall Cotton was more fortunate than his neighbors in Fleurie. Regnié saw substantial losses. Final yields in Brouilly and Côte de Brouilly were consistent with 2016.
