Clos Signadore Vintage 2015 Bottle Sizes 750ml Country France Region Corsica Appellation Patrimonio Wine Type Red - Still Varietals Nielluccio Farming Organic certified Vineyard From the original 4 hectare selection massale plot of 50 year-old-vines planted on lieu-dit 'Morta Piana'. Yields are only 20 to 25 hl/hectare. Soil Blue and red clay, limestone "calcaire brechique". Viticulture Vineyards are farmed organically. Gobelet pruning starts on January, to let the vines sleep. Christophe follows the lunar cycles to guide his farming practices. Vinification Hand-harvested in small bins. Native yeast fermentation, vinified in stainless steel with a 60 day maceration. The juice is transferred to stainless steel tank to rest through the winter. Aged in neutral demi-muids for 24 months. No additions beyond sulfur before bottling. Aging Malolactic fermentation in a combination of 500L barrique and demi-muids for one year starting at the beginning of winter. Then racking of the barrels and blending in barrels one more year. At the beginning of the “second” spring, the wine is put in stainless steel tank (mis en masse) from 3 weeks to one month and a half before the bottling. Production 2,800 bottles Notes Christophe explains to us, “At the domain, the first semester is a time for the white and the rosé and the second semester we work on the rouge.” Back to Current Releases
