Vineyard Goldnagel ("Golden Nail" in English) terraces planted between 1970-1991 with an average age of 40 years old. These are steep, terraced slopes between Thürneustift and Stiefern at the very northernmost border of the Kamptal DAC. At the top of the slope you get rose quartz in the top soil, decomposed primary rock just below the topsoil, and a foundation of solid amphibolite. Midway down the slope you get solid amphibolite closer to the surface, and this is all planted to Riesling.
Soil Primary Rock / Amphibolit / Schist / Loess
Viticulture Vineyards are farmed biodynamically. In the vines, all work is done meticulously with great care going towards regenerative agriculture.
Vinification Whole cluster pressed with spontaneous fermentation in stainless steel. Racked once and kept on fine lees until bottling. Unfined. Unfiltered.
Notes "Grundstein" is "Foundation Stone" in English
