Yann Bertrand Vintage 2018 Bottle Sizes 750ml, 1.5L, 3L Country France Region Beaujolais Appellation Fleurie Wine Type Red - Still Varietals Gamay Farming Organic Vineyard Comprised of two lieu-dits Prion and Poncie of two different terroirs. Prion is pure pink granite and Poncie is decomposed pink granite mixed with sand and a little schist. Sylvan Chanudet owns the parcels grown near the top of La Madonne. Vines average 30 years old with 30 percent over 50 years of age. Vineyards face south. Soil Prion is pure pink granite and Poncie is decomposed pink granite mixed with sand and a little schist. Pink granite is very high in iron. Viticulture Vineyards are planted at a density of 10,000 plants per hectare. Yields are 35 hl/ hectare. The vineyard is farmed using organic methods and tradition goblet pruning. Vinification Cold temperature for 24 hours then cold fermentation begins at 7 degrees Celsius for carbonic maceration. Maceration last for 18 days. Nothing is added to the vinification process. The wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered. Aging Aged in a combination of used 600L demi-muids and used barrique. 60% to 40% respectively. Production 12,000 bottles Back to Current Releases
