Benoît Déhu Vintage 2013 Bottle Sizes 750ml Country France Region Champagne Appellation Coteaux Champenois Wine Type Red - Still Varietals Pinot Meunier Farming Biodynamic Vineyard From a single 1.70 hectare south facing parcel of Pinot Meunier farmed biodynamically by Bênoit in Fossoy. Soil Green clay over limestone. Viticulture The vines are farmed biodynamically by Benoît; worked by hand and horse, treated with compost tea, and sprayed with copper. Simple Guyot pruning is employed. Vines are planted at 8,000 plants/ hectare. Vinification The fruit is de-stemmed and made up of 3 selections of Pinot Noir from Burgundy. Native yeast fermentation. Vinification begins in inox tank for 11 days where the juice experiences remontage (pump-over) and pigéage (punch down) before the juice is moved to 22hl foudres where it rests on its lees. No batonnage occurs. Aging Aged for 11 months in foudres. Bottled unfined and unfiltered. Production Two barrels produced. Back to Current Releases
