Philippe Tessier Vintage 2022 Bottle Sizes 750ml Country France Region Loire Valley Appellation Cheverny Wine Type Red - Still Varietals Gamay, Pinot Noir and approximately 10% Côt. Farming Organic Vineyard Fruit from the domaine's 23 hectares of vines in Cheverny. Vines are 15 to 40 years old. Vines are planted at a density of 5,800 plants per hectare. Vines yield only 28hl/ha. Soil Limestone bedrock under silica and clay. Viticulture As with each of Tessier's wines, organic methods are used as Philippe works the soils and harvest the grapes by hand. Vinification All fruit is hand harvested. The different grape varieties are vinified separately in stainless steel tank. The Gamay undegoes carbonic maceration, the Pinot Noir is approximately 30% whole cluster and the Côt is destemmed. Only native yeasts are used at the domaine. The wine is bottled unfined and with a light filtration. Aging 10 months in a combination of large neutral french oak barriques and inox tank. Back to Current Releases
