Our company was founded by brothers David and Matt McCarus, the strength of this bond is the backbone of everything we do.
We are focused on sharing the love, trust, loyalty and respect held between brothers with each of our producers, as we understand that these same attributes are necessary when farming the land, growing the grapes and making wine.
Beyond distribution, we team up with some of South Carolina’s best restaurants and chefs hosting wine dinners and events, allowing us to spread our enthusiasm with as many people as possible around the same comforting setting where we spent most of our time growing up, the dinner table.

Georgia joined our team after working harvest with John Raytek in 2016. She comes to us with knowledge of both viniculture and viticulture. Georgia graduated from culinary school before starting her front of house restaurant career. She has worked at Charleston’s top restaurants and we are thrilled to have her in our family.
After relocating to Charleston from Columbia, Kaylen joined our team enthusiastic to learn, taste, and most importantly share our portfolio of small growers and producers. With a background and love for beer it only seemed natural for Kaylen to strive to increase her beverage knowledge and zone in on wine.
Lauren was one of our early customers when she was on the flip side of the coin as a wine and beverage buyer in Charleston. After getting married and wanting to move closer to her family in the Upstate of South Carolina, Lauren decided it was time for a job change. She approached us hoping to represent our portfolio in the Greenville and Spartanburg areas. As an avid supporter of MBC, it took us no time to welcome her into the family. We can tell you first hand, to work with Lauren is nothing short of a pleasure.
After graduating from the College of Charleston, Kaitlyn headed straight to Paris to study wine at Le Cordon Bleu for a year. She had the opportunity to visit countless vineyards around France, including ones in Champagne, Bordeaux (where she assisted in harvesting and vinifying a château’s 2017 vintage), Rhone, and Cognac. As a lover of food and wine in Charleston and with a desire to work with unique, small-production wines, we welcomed her to the team so that she may passionately continue her wine journey.
Outside of helping MBC on all things operational, Blake is the lead singer and guitarist of the super fine tuned Charleston based band Youngster.
Bella has been with us since 2005. She has traveled the country from Charleston to San Francisco and back as the most loyal companion. She has walked the vineyards of California and even helped with harvest in 2011.
In 2011 we rescued Nola off of I-49 in Louisiana. It wasn’t long before she shook off her past rising to the top. She is now the protector of our family and our warehouse. She loves swimming and chasing squirrels, but more than anything else, she loves if wine “happens” to spill.
