It is now farmed by Phil Coturri. Within the Jolie-Laide block, tiny amounts of Muscat d'Alexandria and Viognier are interplanted with Grenache and Syrah. Scott has embraced the vineyard for its naturally beauty and co-ferments all the grapes together creating a "field blend." Soil Sprecles Loam to Goulding series for the Grenache and red rhyolite in the Syrah Vinification The whites literally grow in the Syrah and are picked in together and co-fermented. Foot stomped and whole cluster fermented in small open tops with tapering punchdowns. Basket Pressed at dryness to neutral oak for 10 month élevage and bottle aged for an additional 14 months prior to expected release. Aging 10 months in neutral barrels and 14 months in bottle. Production Limited Notes “Both the Syrah and Grenache show up, but the Syrah is the dominating characteristic in the immediate nose. But the whites sneak a high level of aromatic perfume into the background along with the stemmy spice.” Scott Schultz
