Thomas Batardière Vintage 2016 Bottle Sizes 750ml Country France Region Loire Valley Appellation Anjou Wine Type White - Still Varietals Chenin Blanc Farming Biodynamic Vineyard This wine is made of three parcels, situated in Rablay, with vines 15-90 years old. Yields are only 30 hl/ ha. Soil Plateaus of red sand and quartz gravel on schist. Viticulture Vineyards are farmed biodynamically and certified DEMETER. Vinification The juice is blended in steel tanks before the fermentation starts. The alcoholic and malolatic fermentations start naturally, without inoculation and without temperature control. The wine rests on its lees from pressing until summer. To prepare for bottling, Thomas racks several days before filtering. Aging Aged for 11 months on the lees. Notes All of the wines are bottled in September, before the harvest. No fining is ever done, nor is any oenological product ever added with the exception of sulfur. Back to Current Releases
