Enfield Wine Company Vintage 2020 Bottle Sizes 750ml Country USA Region California Appellation Wild Horse Valley Wine Type White - Still Varietals Chardonnay Farming Organic Vineyard Heron Lake Vineyard steeply sits on the far eastern side of Napa County. The vines are planted in extremely shallow volcanic soils, where formations of quartz, granite and feldspar frequently rise to within just a few inches of the surface. The intersection of this coastal climate and rugged soil profile creates wines that express a daring combination of freshness, acidity, depth and texture, along with the vineyard’s signature chunky “white quartz” minerality. Soil Quartz, granite, volcanic. Viticulture Vineyard is farmed organically. Cordon pruning. Low yields, about 30hl/ ha. The vineyard is comprised of two plantings : 22 year old vines with vines interplanted between the rows which are now 15 years old. Vinification The grapes were directly whole cluster pressed. The juice was barrel fermented with native yeast and underwent a full native ML fermentation. Bottled un-fined and unfiltered. Aging The wine was aged on its own lees for 16 months in barrel. Production 5 barrels Notes An extra gentle pressing in 2014 brings an increased level of purity and elegance to the unique power and charm of Heron Lake. It has focused acidity, surprising depth and a softer minerality. Back to Current Releases
